ANNOUNCEMENTS

August 18, 2023

Registration for the Eastlake High School Girls Slowpitch Softball team opened on August 1st. Registration is required by August 18th to play on the first day of practice. [Tesla STEM students who reside in the Eastlake High School boundaries are eligible for register.]

Slowpitch is a non-cut, varsity sport and is fast-growing among the KingCo high schools. Previous softball experience is a plus, but not required. Experienced Fastpitch players are also encouraged to play as this is an excellent opportunity to warm up for the Fastpitch season. First practice is on Monday, August 21st, from 4-6pm on the EHS Varsity Softball Field.

Freshman will need a Sports Physical prior to the season (as well as any athlete whose Sports Physical has expired).

Schedule

Practices will go from 4pm - 6pm Monday through Friday through the season (except for game days). Players are expected to arrive 10-15 minutes early, prepared and ready to play.

Go Wolves!

Message from the Booster Club:

Hello Slowpitch Parents,

Thank you for registering your daughter in Final Forms for Slowpitch. We are excited to get the season started! The first practice is on Monday, March 1st, from 4pm to 5:30pm on the Eastlake High School Varsity Softball field. The season for Slowpitch starts on March 1st and ends on April 1st.

Schedule

Practices will go from 4pm – 5:30pm Monday through Friday through the season (except for game days).

Games have been tentatively scheduled. This schedule can change, but we want to give you as much heads up as possible based on the information we have as of today.

  • Round-robin style with two games on Saturdays, 3/13, 3/20, and 3/27.

  • One additional game on Monday, 3/29, and Thursday, 4/1.

It sounds like parents may be able to be spectators at the games, but we need to confirm this.

We will post schedule information on this team website as we learn more.

Practice t-shirt sizes

Boosters provides practice t-shirts for the girls every 2 years. NEW PLAYERS, please email me your name and t-shirt size. If your daughter needs a different size or would like a new set, we can order for our cost - which will be around $15 each.

Hoodie and Sweatshirt Orders for Girls and Fans

Hoodies and Sweatshirts are also available to order.  Prices should be about $25 for a sweatshirt and $30 for a hoodie. Exact prices are TBD; I'm still waiting on the quote, but was told the price should be very similar to our last order.

Since our season is short, we will place the order ASAP and collect payment when they are delivered. Orders will be available one week after we place our group order.

Booster Membership

We would appreciate if all families would join the Boosters Club for $50. If you'd like to support the program more, $100 would also be appreciated. We aren't planning fundraising this year, given our short season. Checks to EHS Slowpitch Boosters can be brought to practices. More info is on the Boosters tab.

We are also looking for an additional board member. Please email Sara Cupp, President, if you are interested in volunteering. See Boosters tab for contact information.

GO EASTLAKE!!

Message from Coach Brian,

Hello Slow Pitch Families! I have updated my distribution to include returning Players, new Freshmen, and students who have signed up in Final Forms to play this season. To those new to the Sport, welcome, I look forward to seeing you at the field! To those returning, I have missed you all! Following are a couple of things for you to aware of:

  • First, please note that the season has been moved again and is slated to begin March 1st.

  • Second, if you have not already done so, please make sure to get yourself registered in Final Forms. There are quite a few returners who are not listed (you must specify Slow Pitch, there is no carry over with Fast Pitch!).

  • Third and final, if you are interested in winter conditioning and missed the opportunity to sign up, it is still possible to do so in Final Forms, although you must be in the system prior to Thursday of the week to begin the following Monday. We will be throwing next week, so consider signing up for the following week to join us.

Please become a Booster member if you haven't already. Bring cash or check to a game or send with your daughter.

You can also help out by volunteering in the football concession stand (we made over $500 in one night last year). For more information, go to the Parent Portal under the More tab.

Practice shirts for the athletes have arrived!

If families are interested in a dark grey sweatshirt or hoodie for themselves or their player, we can place an order on September 25th. They have the same graphic as the practice shirts. Please contact Sara Cupp if interested. Sweatshirts are $20 and hoodies are $30. Sizes available are adult S, M, L or XL.  If we have at least 10 items requested, we can place an order.

Team and individual player photos are planned during practice on Wednesday, Sept 11th. Please be dressed in full uniform! Thank you Jacques Umphrey!

Would you be interested in helping the EHS Slowpitch Booster Club in the role of Treasurer? We currently have two parents on our Booster Club Board, but need a minimum of three Officers. Please kindly consider volunteering.  It should only take about 3 hours per month during the fall sports season. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Booster Club President, Sara Cupp, at  saracupp@gmail.com. Thank you!

If you didn't join the Boosters Club at the Parents Meeting, you can send a check for $50 or $100 to include an extra donation to a practice and give it to Leah.  Checks are made payable to EHS Slowpitch Boosters Club.  If you have matching, please use our parent association - Eastlake Wolfpack Association, tax identification is 77-0616862.  Your dues/donation is tax-deductible.

Our schedule, standings and up-to-date rainout information can be found on the King Co. Athletics website.  Our schedule is on this link. http://www.kingcoathletics.com/index.php?pid=0.7.62.31.321&team_level=Varsity&view_trans=0

Remember to like our FB page - fb.me/EHSSlowpitch. We'll live stream some games here, post pictures and make announcements that are fun to share with family and friends.  Let us know if you would like to volunteer to be an admin on the page.
